Frequently asked questions.
The short answers about workstations, storage, review, and security. For anything else, book a demo and we will walk you through it.
What kind of Macs are the workstations?
Real, bare-metal Macs in our data center, not virtual machines. Mac Mini "Edit" stations handle editorial and conform, and Mac Studio "Color" stations handle grading and finishing.
How does my team connect?
Through Jump Desktop with single sign-on, from any Mac or Windows computer. The remote session is tuned for color-critical work.
Which creative apps can I run?
Because the stations are full macOS machines, your team runs the apps it already uses, including DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and Avid Media Composer. You can bring your own license or have us provision a licensed app as an optional add-on.
How does storage work?
Media sits on tiered cloud storage in one library. Hot storage is fast storage for active work, Archive is cheaper storage for finished projects, and Deep is the lowest-cost tier for long-term cold storage. Storage mounts automatically on your workstations.
How does footage get in?
A high-speed transfer agent moves large camera media into your project quickly, so you are not mailing shuttle drives or waiting on slow uploads.
How does client review work?
You send a secure link and the client watches the cut in their browser, with no account to create and nothing to install. Comments are tied to exact timecodes.
Can I control what a link exposes?
Yes. Links can be view-only, allow downloads, or accept uploads, and you can add a password and an expiry date. For sensitive cuts, a visible forensic watermark can identify each viewer.
Who can see my media?
Access is managed per team member, per project, and per workstation, so people only reach what they are assigned to. Removing a member revokes their access everywhere.
Can a leaked frame be traced?
Yes. A visible forensic watermark can burn the viewer identity, including organization, email, and IP, into sensitive cuts, so a leaked frame can be traced back to its source.
Can I run CloudStudio under my own brand?
Yes. CloudStudio can be run white-label as a managed service, so you deliver the platform to your own clients under your own brand.
How do I get started?
Book a demo and we will show the platform on a real project and walk through pricing for your team. We will get your workstations, storage, and projects set up with you.
